Common Outdoor problems

What San Antonio homeowners tell us before they call

A backyard that goes unused from May through October

Without shade, airflow, and a proper outdoor kitchen, San Antonio backyards sit empty during the hottest months. The right structure changes that.

Grill stations sold as outdoor kitchens

A grill island on a slab is not an outdoor kitchen. Real outdoor cooking needs a gas line, running water, GFCI electrical, and weather-rated refrigeration.

Patios that crack in two summers

Poor subgrade prep and missing expansion joints mean stamped or stained concrete heaves and cracks on San Antonio clay. We build to move with the soil, not against it.

What we do

Outdoor Living in San Antonio, the design-build way

Last updated: June 24, 2026

We design and build complete outdoor living spaces: outdoor kitchens with grills, sinks, refrigeration, and the required plumbing/gas/electrical; custom patios in broom, stained, stamped, or tile finishes; outdoor fireplaces; pergolas; and decks. Everything is built to handle Texas heat and entertain year-round.

Outdoor living spaces San Antonio backyards were built for

San Antonio’s climate is built for outdoor living — mild winters, long evenings, and 200+ usable days a year. Done well, an outdoor kitchen, covered patio, and shade structure can functionally double your entertaining space.

Outdoor kitchens, the real kind

The difference between a grill island and a real outdoor kitchen is utilities. A real outdoor kitchen has:

  • Gas line to the grill (and side burner, if you want one)
  • Plumbing for a sink with hot and cold water and proper drainage
  • Refrigeration and sometimes a built-in ice maker
  • Electrical with GFCI-protected circuits
  • Weatherproofing on every component, with the storage built to keep moisture out

We design, engineer, and build all of this in-house — including the masonry, countertops, and appliance install.

Patios that actually last

San Antonio clay soil punishes lazy patio work. We prep the subgrade, set proper expansion joints, and reinforce the slab so it moves with the soil instead of cracking. Stamped, stained, and tile finishes all sit on top of a foundation built to last.

Pergolas and shade for the Texas summer

A pergola without shade is decorative. We design pergolas with the right beam spacing, slat orientation, and (often) a louvered roof or shade-cloth panel that actually blocks afternoon sun. For full coverage, we build covered patios with rolled-truss roofing that ties into the house cleanly.

Why homeowners pick us

Same process. Same crew. Same fixed price.

We run the utilities so the kitchen actually works

An outdoor kitchen without gas, water, and proper electrical is just a grill on a slab. We run the plumbing, gas line, and circuits — including weatherproofing — so the space functions like an indoor kitchen.

Shade structures that survive Texas summers

Pergolas, louvered roofs, and shade sails need to be engineered for San Antonio heat, wind, and afternoon sun. We build to withstand the climate, not to look good for a season.

Patios that drain, don't crack, and stay level

Stamped, stained, broom, and tile patios all need proper subgrade prep and expansion joints to handle clay-soil movement. We pour to last.

FAQ

Common Outdoor Living Questions

Common questions about our design-build remodeling process.

How much does an outdoor kitchen cost in San Antonio?
Most full outdoor kitchens land between $20,000 and $80,000 depending on size, materials (stone vs. stucco vs. tile), appliance package, and utility runs. Gas and refrigeration push the cost up.
Do you handle the gas line and plumbing?
Yes. Gas-line extension, water supply and drainage, GFCI circuits, and weatherproofing are all part of our scope. We coordinate the inspections.
What patio finishes do you offer?
Broom finish, acid-stained, stamped (stone, brick, slate patterns), tile (porcelain pavers), and exposed aggregate. We can also do flagstone or natural stone over a concrete base.
Can you build a pergola or covered patio?
Yes. Wood pergolas, steel/aluminum louvered roofs, and fully covered patios with rolled-truss roofing are all part of our scope. We engineer for wind load and shade orientation.
Do outdoor living projects need permits?
Patios under a certain size may not. Permanent gas lines, electrical, plumbing, and covered structures generally do. We handle the permits.
